 Sarah Flood

Sarah has been involved in tennis for almost 30 years. Originating from the United Kingdom, she

came to Houston in 2000, to represent The University of Houston at NCAA Div 1 level tennis.

Sarah started her teaching career in 2006 helping to run two YMCA tennis programs and later moved to Lakeside CC where she developed a successful Jr Program. Four years later Sarah transferred to Westside Tennis and Fitness where she ran a much larger Jr. Academy, advanced the games of several junior players to superchamp level and developed five ladies league teams. In June of 2015 Sarah made the move to Westheimer Indoor Tennis Club where she worked with all ages and all levels, and grew the 10 & under program to 100 kids. In 2017, she was recruited by Houston Racquet Club to run 10 and under. Since joining HRC, Sarah has developed the JTT program, starting 5 JTT teams. She runs a monthly kids drop-in tournament with approximately 50 kids.

Sarah is a USPTA Elite teaching pro and an IPTPA Professional Pickleball instructor. Sarah is the chair of the Houston Tennis Association Junior Team Tennis committee and is a task force leader for the USPTA Diversity, Equity & Inclusion National Committee. She recently worked with the Greater Houston Pickleball Association to create a new pickleball league in the city of Houston.

  • Played on the Great Britain LTA National Squad

  • Represented Great Britain at several Jr events.

  • Ranked top ten in UK and played world ranking Jr ITF and satelitte events.

  • 2000-2005: Played NCAA Div 1 tennis for The University of Houston Cougars.

  • 2002-2003: After recovering from a career ending car accident, received the ITA National Cissy Leary award for sportmanship and inspiring others.

  • 2005: Graduated with 3.5 in B.S. Kinesiology, Sport and Exercsie Science.

  • 2006: Helped run two YMCA tennis programs.

  • 2007-2010: Assistant tennis pro at Lakeside CC.

  • 2010-2015: Assistant tennis pro at Westside Tennis and Fitness Club.

  • Became USPTA certified.

  • 2015-2017: Tennis Pro at Westheimer Indoor.

  • At Present: Tennis Pro at Houston Racquet Club.
